Install Frets & Fret Markers

Install Fret Markers
The fret markers were installed before the frets. I chose a diamond shaped abalone marker for the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, 12th and 15th fret. The markers were temporarily glued to their positions on to the fretboard with a small spot of cyno glue. Each edge of the marker was scored with a xacto knife and removed. Using my Dremel with a 1/16" Stewmac router bit, I practiced on a piece scrap wood to determine the correct depth. I used the Dremel's slowest speed to cut and clear the inlay cavity. The four vertices of the diamond cavity were cut with a chisel edged xacto blade. Once level with the fretboard, the markers were glued with cyno glue. Any gaps will be filled with a mixture of cyno and rosewood dust.

Install Frets
I prepared the fretboard by running a larger xacto blade through each frt slot and  moistening the slot with a wet rag. The frets were pressed on to the fretboard and a thin line of cyno glue was applied to the edge of the fret.
