The channels for the ukulele binding and purfling were cut creating a 1/8" border around the perimeter of the ukulele. The edge consists of a 3/16"x1/6" faux tortoise binding and two 1/6"x1/32" black-white purflings. The ukulele was sprayed with a shellac coat to prevent staining from the cyno glue (super glue). Note: spray shellac before routing the channel to have a clean edge for gluing. The bindings and purflings were glued and taped in small sections. After curing, the bindings and purflings were scraped and sanded level.
