The neck was shaped to its final configuration. The neck was sanded with 180 and 220 grit. The wood pores were filled with LMI micro bead filler. A rosewood heel cap was glued and shaped.
Gotoh SG381 gold mother of pearl tuners were fitted. The holes for the tuners were drilled with a 1/16" pilot hole and a 10mm hole half way into the back of head plate and a 9mm hole into the top of the head plate to accommodate the thicker tuner shaft. Drilling from both sides of the head stock helped minimize "tear out".
It's starting to look like an ukulele.
