Attach Fretboard to Neck

The fretboards were glued to the ukulele necks using the following procedure: I put two staples into the back of the fretboard at the top and mid point, cut the upper part of the staple off leaving about a 1/8" point, aligned the fretboard and pressed it into the soft mahogany neck providing alignment holes for glueing. The necks were glued and clamped over my fret caul. The necks were shaped into their final configuration using a spokeshave, rasp and sand paper. The headstocks were sanded and the shape was refined. Maple heel caps were glued on and shaped. Any open fret slots on the side of the fret board were filled with rosewood dust and superglue. The necks were sanded to 400 grit and prepped for a shellac base coat.
