The braces were cut from a Sitka Spruce billet into 1/4"x3/16" sections. The braces were glued to the back in the "Go Bar" clamping system shown in the photograph. Then a spruce back strip reinforcement was glued between the braces. The braces were shaped and scalloped with a small finger plane and chisel.
