After designing the head plate and looking at different computer bookmatching images, I prepared a highly patterned wood for the head plate. This veneer plate will cover the neck scarf joint and provide aesthetic interest. The wood is from the same piece that the sound hole rosette was fabricated from. The plate was book matched and glued together using the book matching and gluing jigs I used for the sides.
