I was playing my 6 string baritone ukulele (#003 build) and was impressed with the sound and volume. The spruce soundboard is opening up and, I believe, the baritone's carbon fibre neck reinforcement enhances the sound. The carbon fibre rod stiffens the neck and transmits the sound better. Based on this observation, I decided to add a 1/4" carbon fibre rod on Mile's #007 ukulele.
The channel was routed with a Rockler 1/4" diameter core box bit. The tubular carbon fibre rod, LMI (#GRT-8) 1/4"x18" was epoxied into the neck. The carbon fibre rod is long enough for two tenor ukuleles.
