The sound board was reinforced with two transverse braces and three lower fan braces and bridge patch. The braces are Sitka Spruce and the bridge patch is made of Koa. The objective is to trim (scallop) the braces for maximum strength and balanced flexibility. The braces were scalloped using a chisel and a small Ibex finger plane. The ukulele sound boards and the backs are now completed. The next step is to attach them to the sides.
